Momma's Helper

Emma helped me with dinner Wednesday night. She mixed the corn muffins and cracked her own egg. We set the table and used candles for dinner...Ooooo. In a 3 year old's mind, that is pretty darn fancy. She gobbled her entire dinner down just so she could blow out the candles.

Enter our highlight of the evening:

Apparently Emma can't blow!! Andy and I were crying as we watched Emma spit and sputter, her face becoming more and more red, trying with all her might to blow out those candles. We showed her how to take a deep breath, still she would only let the air out in the smallest, softest way possible. She's such a girl! Eventually they were blown out, not before spilling wax on the table. Oh well.

Emma just made this comment to me:

"Mom, Dad has a bouncy head, but that's ok, because boys have bouncy heads." (??)

Ok, here's a thought for you... if Emma meets her future husband when you met Andy, then that would be in like 13 years, right? um, that is not much time! This entry just made me think of how grown-up she already is. You guys are parenting at about a 5 year old level and we are honestly still at 2. I guess they both have challenges right? :-)

Dawn, I just read Andy just comment and he just about cried. :) To make it worse, it would actually only be 12 years. I was 15. AGH!! She did tell me last night though that she'll live at home forever which made her Daddy very happy. :) Yes, both levels are challenging I'm sure. I'm trying to stay 2 steps ahead of Emma, usually not suceeding. Stories to tell at Christmas, that's for sure!
