Mom listened to (and then related to Dad and I) a long radio report last night by Dr. James Dobson.
You won't believe this, well, maybe you will.
As of (I believe) 2 days ago, home-schooling is now ILLEGAL in the state of California as per the California Supreme Court.
It sounds as though they have taken 1 lone family's legal case and made it apply to all. Obviously, there will always be the troubled stories of families that homeschool, do private school, Christian or public schools.....But to lump all people together based on the unfortunate few bad cases....Well, it isn't the first time is it.
Anyway, this isn't a soap box, just wanting to inform those who may not have heard. We're keeping our ears open to what they may ask other homeschooling families to do to be heard on this ruling.
Interesting how many cases are popping up in our nation that really do all revolve around similar subjects....What are parents allowed to decide, teach and do for their own children and what is forced upon them by our government.

I'm not positive, but the the CA court ruling still allows homeschooling but only by a parent with teaching credentials. Of course this restricts things much more. Hmmm, I'll be interested to see how this plays out in Irvine school district.
No, you are correct Dawn. There sure has been an uproar to the ruling.
