New Kitchen Sink

This project has been on our minds since the week we moved in!
Something seemed "fishy" about the water pressure from the kitchen sink. The rest of the house had good pressure, and we had JUST had a house inspection performed with a clean bill of health as far as any under-the -boards water problems should have been concerned.

We concluded that our nasty problem was due to the length of time the water was stagnant in the pipes due to the house being foreclosed, and that awful goose neck faucet. (They're pretty, but I'll never own one again). It's been the first true "farm house" feature that we've removed from the house and that made me a bit sad. We ARE trying to continue with the original builder's thoughts and ideas for the house to have a country, cozy feel, but this is one area where modern was better!

We chose black composite granite and gained 2inches of depth which I assure you, makes a WORLD of difference where a family's worth of dishes is concerned!

Now for the impressive part. Obviously, a new sink and faucet are not cheap, and it would have made us cry to spend another $275 on top of that to install the new sink. No need to worry, SuperAndy is here! :) He amazes me....plumbing is not easy, but he read up, watched a few "how-to" videos (to appease me) and went after it, problem solving all along the way to accommodate the different shapes and sizes of sinks. My hero!!!

The end result? WATER PRESSURE! Oh glorious bursts of water, how I love you!

It looks really pretty! I thought you made the change just for cosmetic reasons, but it makes sense when you hear the whole story. And depth IS wonderful when you have a big family and lots of dishes!
