We rise, sometimes only when our children are bouncing on the bed so hard that it demands an open eye. We feed, bath, clothe and play with our kids. Picking up toys, thinking about dinner, reading books and changing diapers. Living for the smiles, the "I love you mommy" and the cuddle moments. We anxiously wait for our mates to come home from work with a quick kiss and a promise to get to chat later. Then at the end of the day we repeat the beginning in reverse and tuck in our treasures to bed.....Then wait for them to come out of their rooms with two or three excuses for why it is impossible for them to sleep. :)
Hm....And just where do we fit "dates" in?! Ah! Andy and I are becoming quite creative! With money and time. Our latest favorites are scooping the girls in the car for a half hour at Gma's house while we take Scrabble to our local coffee shop. Or, to be real cheesy, we snuggle up on the couch with popcorn and play "Family Feud" online. That's a date that can be "paused" when offspring #1 has to get out of bed yet again to go to the bathroom. An oldie favorite but a goodie is taking a few dollars each and heading in different directions in a store (now with 1 kid each) and come back with something that made us think of the other. Feel free to use imagination here! It can be hilarious.
The whole point is to enjoy the season of life God has you in, if you have young kids, they'll never be small again, if you don't have kids yet, you'll never be free again
I am thankful.

I thought that I was all grown up when my son was born. Now I act more like a child than I ever did before. Crawling around on the floor, making funny faces, playing with toys. I love it, he teaches me new things every day.
