Bug Bites & the County Fair!

I have been almost weird about my concern for the girls and how much time they spend outside. These stories of West Nile have scared me enough to even put infant bug spray on them before they go to bed! Well, last night, Emma spent 20 minutes outside (fully sprayed) and came in with at least 20 bites. Oh gosh....Poor thing! I hurt more than she does! Cool bath, benadryl (she was swelling already) and anti-itch medicine or "pink makeup" when talking to a 3 yr. old and she was ready for bed. : ( Had to show the pics though!!

We spent the evening at the Malheur County Fair. Ususally an event that can be easily missed, but this year the up and coming Miss Alyssa LeBoutillier was performing in her band "Damaris" for a Battle of the Bands competition. They were awesome and we were so proud.

But what is a fair without going through the cow barns?! Enter our next two pics. Now, you have to know something....Emma was taking pictures with cows, great big smiles one after another. Then, it happened, she turned around to smile and just as I snapped the shot, Emma caught sight of the cow behind me....And well, the cow's rather large and dirty backside. Hence Emma's priceless expression!!!! That's a keeper.

Enjoy summer, stay cool. Go to a fair. :-)
