Christmas 2008

What a wonderful Christmas. A bit unusual for us with school, new jobs and lots of projects to tie up in the mix, but the important things were present and that's what made it so wonderful.

This year, the snow was so fun with the girls. Sledding has been a daily occurance this past week and we made good memories out in the snow again today, even pursuading Gma Ann and Gpa Dan to trek down the hill.

We shared Christmas Eve with the Coleman clan and did our annual ornament exchange which is always a hoot, then on to the Church's Christmas Eve Service which is absolutely engrained as a Christmas tradition for us now....It was beautiful. Christmas Day was with the LeBoutilliers. I'm thankful for the wonderful brunch and dinner Gma Sue made for all of us, the thoughtful gifts, the time with family and togetherness. I enjoy my sibblings so much.

I struggled a bit today to keep my mind focused on the present and not become somber thinking about what the years ahead may bring for holiday time....Being so far removed from these two beautiful families we have....With all the chaos that follows. But what I know is that the Lord is there already, in that time, knowing fully what's in store for us and preparing us now if we'll take the time to be taught. So I won't get weepy....I'll cherrish the memories we made this year and press on to....."Be joyful always, praying continually, in everything giving thanks."

We had a beautiful, white Christmas

I never got to tell you that I love your family photos! They turned out so good! I'm thinking that the next time we are in town (or whenever the whole Coleman clan is together) we should get Becky to do a family photo for us.
