The Tales of Disneyland....

Disneyland as seen through the eyes of Emma (4) and Olivia (2).

The tram that takes you from the parking garage to the park was probably cool enough that we could have just told them that was the "ride" for the day. They were already giddy.

Emma surprised us all by asking for "scarier and faster" rides. We started with the Peter Pan ride which was scary enough for Liv but just made Emma want to do more and more....

When asked Liv says Peter Pan was her favorite, Emma usually says Pirates. :)
A definite highlight of our first day was the girls meeting Winnie the Pooh. (see picture from last post) You can tell how delighted they are. That's our "capturing photo" from the whole trip.

Emma ended up riding roller coasters, Splash Mountain (which makes a 50 foot drop into water at the end), Pirates and Soarin' Over California which makes you feel like you hundreds of feet up in the air and LOVED them all. What a little stinker, she's super cautious in every day life but throws that to the wind when it comes to Disneyland!

Liv had a rough encounter with Mickey. Ya see, Liv has a blankie.....It is THE blankie.....The blankie belonging to Olivia that is not to be touched or taken by anyone.

Mickey took the blankie.

Yes, the disasterous event occured when Livy, acting shy and seeming reluctant to approach Mickey did he reach out and touch THE blankie, not just touch but pull the blankie away. Apparently in hopes of her coming to get it. Little did he know.....

Liv didn't scream or move, she just lowered her eyes and GLARED at Mickey in the fiestest way any 2 year old could. I watched as she locked her position and was prepared to duel Mickey in a stare for as long as it took till the blankie was returned.

He gave it back.

Later, when Daddy (who had been at Minnie's house with Emma) asked Liv about meeting Mickey this was their exchange....
"Liv! Did you meet Mickey?"

"Yes. He took my blankie."

"He did?!?! Well, you could have grabbed it back from him."

"I was scared."

"Oh, there's nothing to be scared of, he's a nice mouse."

"I don't like him."
-----------------------------
Later that night after we'd long left the park, we heard Liv mumbling to herself in the backseat "Mickey took my blankie....."

Livy was so exhausted from our travels through the park that in the late afternoon, she was in the middle of the Tiki Room and suddenly fell forward when quick-thinking Uncle Jake caught her by the forehead before she hit the floor. Haha.

Mommy had the treat of having her favorite caramel apple while in the park and the scare of her life while riding "Tower of Terror" with Superman. Uncle Jake and Aunt Dawn took the kids for icecream while we rode it, and once is enough for me. :)

We came home exhausted and with weary backs and feet, but it was worth the long drives and late hours to experience the magic with our kids. They're only little once.
