Shopping to Save (Sunday Edition)

Want to peek into our yard sale treasure hunt this weekend?
It was another great week for Andy.

For Emma, he found this sweet little (sun faded, worn thin) new-to-her, basketball hoop for
.75 cents.
2 coats of spray paint later (the only 2 colors we had in the garage)
Vwalla!
The real excitement of the day:
Andy bought a slide for $10.00.
I found this Swing 'N Slide wavy, yellow slide listed yesterday online brand new for $249.99. (Whoa!)
Well, we ARE putting together our own play set, BUT we already have a beautiful green slide waiting for a platform. (Isn't green just more soothing and pretty than bright yellow? It was my personal request that we go with green elements :)) The green slide was a gift and it's the exact length Andy was hoping for. Sooo...Andy had an idea. We knew this was a killer price for a slide like this. He bought it, spent about 20 minutes in the backyard with the girls washing it sparkly clean, listed it on Craigslist and we sold it the next day for
$70.00. More money toward our play set!!!
Yard Sale Tip: Always keep an eye open at sales for furniture, toys, perhaps house-hold items that are being sold at amazing prices. If you can refurbish, clean up, or just re-design and re-sell...Give it a shot!
