Ok, kinda corny title, but you'll see why in a minute.
We've been very blessed to be fellowshipping at Calvary Chapel Nampa for the past 6 months now. What also has our hearts happy is to see Emma enjoying her class AND making new friends.
...A few months back, Emma and I had taken our seats in the sanctuary when she gasped and said "Mom! Can I go say hi to those girls, they're my friends!" Not seeing any girls around I was really curious and told her she may go. I watched her walk across the room and stop at a group of people who were talking together.
Let me give you a few hints as to who these "girls" are, Emma's friends are named "Ginger, June, Mirna, Pat, Eve, Gayle & Barb". They enjoy canning, sewing & reading their AARP magazines!!
They are all between 60 and 75 years old and Emma looks for these ladies every week. She has a similar routine, she always shows them her dress and how it twirls, the one or two ballet moves she learned during the week and introduces them to whichever little stuffed animal she's brought with her. They all seem to have plenty of time to hear her stories and I think she in return brightens their days by being so excited to visit with them, AND by calling them "the girls". : )
I hope when I'm a 65 year old woman, there's a little girl at the front doors of church waiting for me with her stories and smiles.
