Calvary Chapel Ontario's Sr. High Girls Camp '08
I was so blessed to be a part of camp this year. Beyond surprised to be asked to speak for camp, but after praying, I really felt it was what I was supposed to do.
Small group of girls, I think there were 15 or 16 of us total (Awesome, "living room" size) and we spent 3 days in Garden Valley, Idaho. At this gorgeous cabin you see in the picture, yes, we were truly roughing it. Complete with horses and swimming hole, it could not have been more picturesque and perfect.

The girls actually ministered to my own heart as they displayed true servant's hearts to one another. It was amazing to watch, mom and I were commenting early on in our camp how a few girls seemed to come with no other design but to bless and serve the other girls, and the passion was contagious, it seemed to spread through camp quickly. It was a very soft-hearted group of girls and I will truly cherish my time with them.
Our time in the Word was sweet. My own summer of study time was rewarding enough, but even through a few shakes and quivers, I really was excited to share what the Lord had given me and pray that He would multiply it among the girls hearts.
I had to take a picture of these flowers, it's just another image to display how the whole week seemed just "charming".

Our camp cook (18 yrs. old) was AMAZING. She will make some young man VERY happy some day. She blessed us with amazing meals and went so far as to make creme broulee on the last evening in individual dishes with hardened white chocolate splatters. NOT normal camp food!!!
The girls were sent on a scavenger hunt which was a hoot to watch, we swam (or at least dipped our legs) played the craziest drama games and overall had a wonderful time!
Oh, I couldn't get by without showing you the "tatoo" I came home with (much to my husband's surprise!). It was "the thing to do" at camp. The girls spent literally hours drawing on each other around the camp fire, singing "You Are My Sunshine" (and many other barely recognizable tunes) and eating many, many s'mores.
The true sinker to that little story is that my sister in law went in for an emergency c-section the next morning after camp and I went to the hospital wearing shorts with that huge thing on my leg!!! Oh well, my mother in law (also up at camp) had to come with hers too!! Haha.
