So....there's our two girls that Andy and I have been entrusted to raise and love, and I delight in every minute. We had a great reminder from a dad of 3 teenage daughters this last week. Emma happened to be wearing a sundress complete with purple rain boots that day (which I remember made me cringe but we were in a rush and I let it be) and he saw her and said "Oh, don't EVER stop her from wearing anything crazy or cute like that. Soon enough, fashion is all they'll care about."
I appreciate that. I don't believe the teenage years HAVE to be bad....I believe a lot has to do with what expectations you place on your kids for good, and the foundation you begin on in their younger years....But, life WILL change. They will not always be toddlers, in fact Emma is maturing much too quickly for us.
So....We will embrace the rain boots, the goggles, the clashing colors, the three ponytails and every other little girl fashion and hold on to these special years.
