Our porch is now graced with corn stalks and about 5 pumpkins. Love it.
Saturday, we ended our day at one of the most beautiful parks in town. Huge old oak trees, small stream running through, and lots of wildlife. After a hilarious game of family football, we all laid on a blanket and made comments about the sounds we could hear. (Water running, rustling of leaves etc.) When it came to be Liv's turn to add something she remarked "I hear an ice cream cone over at Dairy Queen."
Emma and I kept our oven roaring hot yesterday. We cranked out two peach and blueberry pies, 2 loafs of zucchini bread and steak stirfry from scratch. Mmmm. Daddy helped with the stirfry and all of us gave him 2 thumbs up on his special sauce. Yum!
The rain has been coming down all morning. My favorite kind of day. Perfect for what we had planned, nothing! After I finish up here, I'm going to go read a book while my little chicks take their naps.
Andy set up a shelving unit in the basement for me last night. We stacked all our Christmas decorations just in case the basement floods this coming winter/spring season. Hopefully it won't....but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Last night, just before we began to eat our stir fry, Emma asked me "Mom.....what vegetables are in here?" (my pickiest eater) I said "Emma, let's just eat them no matter what." She pauses....stares at her bowl for a while....."Do ya not wanna tell me 'cause then I'll get grossed out?"
I sigh. "Yep. Exactly Emma." (ha)

Emma is just like her mom in the vegetable department. LOL When Emma's mom was little, her daddy put some casserole hot dish on her plate, and she screamed, "Does it have those LITTLE THINGS in it????" (I'm assuming it was mushrooms that she didn't like.)
