Learn as you go Cooking

Fun Tidbit:

I just learned that in almost all recipes, but especially baking, applesauce can be substituted for vegetable oil (which I was out of yesterday).

As a side note, the applesauce added wonderful flavor to the blueberry muffins I made and they were much healthier for it!

I try to use applesauce when i do brownies or cakes.. makes them a bit moister (is that a word :)

When you add applesauce to your baking, do you do 1/2 oil and 1/2 applesauce, or completely exchange it?

Completely exchange it, and I've never been able to tell a taste difference. I think it makes cakes a tad bit yummier :)
