Full Weekend of Fun

The kids and I are off to Ontario in a few hours for the weekend.

Andy has a men's retreat in Garden Valley that he's both speaking at and helping lead worship for. (Whew!)

Emma had her first (now annual) birthday visit with G&G LeB, so she's already in Ontario. The house just feels so strange without her. My morning was quiet and Liv and I barely knew what to do with ourselves during breakfast. Because of Emma's watchful eyes being absent, Liam found and ate a foil-wrapped chocolate while Liv and I were busy with phonograms. (I called Andy to double-check on the foil issue....I got most of it out of his mouth before he swallowed).

Now I understand why my parents weren't fans of us being gone for long periods when we were young. Life just isn't quite right unless you have your children near by. I'm all for parents taking time for each other, but for now I am very thankfully the Lord has called us to homeschool, I don't know what I'd do without my kids during the day.

Speaking of though, you all know that I love to think ahead. I plan, make lists, compare notes and generally always like to know "the next 10 steps". While the Lord truly has been freeing me from my NEED of that element to my life, I still love to dream.

I've been thinking a lot about what I will want to do with my time when our kids are on their own. Among many creative projects I'd like to tackle, which I won't bore you with at the moment....I've really been thinking I'd like to join Andy in his clinic experiences. (If he's moved to a hospital setting by then, we'll have to see! ;))
I love paperwork. I love filing, organizing, even tedious processes. I think I could really love medical billing. So! For now, it remains in the back of my mind....something I may pursue through various classes throughout the next 10 years or so while I focus the majority of my time on my current race.

Who knows. If Emma continues with her fascination with medical education, I think I'd feel left out!
