Emma Lou Hoo

Yesterday was Emma's 5th Birthday. That means that my first precious little girl is a FIVE year old. Oh my.

Emma's first words of the day were great.
"Hm...I feel much larger to myself!"

Her cake was a Candyland theme. It was a bear to keep it from toppling over, but we managed long enough to take pictures at least!

We were really thrilled to have Andy's folks here to celebrate with us.

We took them to see our Bramble Park Zoo which was good fun. Emma loved feeding the goats which was great progress for her when it comes to how close she'll get to animals! :)
What birthday is complete without a Birthday Pancake Smile from IHop? (Emma's choice of restaurant)

It was 5 years ago that we went into the hospital on my due date to be induced. I remember being so hungry the nurses allowed me to eat some fries and a milk shake as we waiting for labor to kick in. Andy never left my side, and was a wonderful birthing coach along with my mom. 13 hours, coupled with 3 hours of pushing later, we had our precious Emma Grace Coleman. 7 lbs 13 oz.
She is a very great and wonderful blessing to us. Full of life and ever so sma
rt! She keeps us on our toes in all respects and is one of the most tender hearted little girls I've eve
r known. As of 10.15.09, she would like to be a zoo keeper when she grows up (but that could be a colored view because of the fact we happened to GO to the zoo that day).

Emma loves to read, imagine and cook. She's faithful to her Awana Cubbies club and is a terrific big sister. We love you Emma Lou Hoo!!!
