Obviously I'm new to this game. My short 2 1/2 years of schooling Emma and Liv at home doesn't accumulate to much wealth of experience, but I am finding some wonderful helps along the way!
If you're currently homeschooling or just would like some fun ideas to engage your children in learning, try out some of our finds!
God's World Readers -- A monthly "magazine" for kids. Includes multiple age & reading levels with up-to-date world issues and sto
ries with a Biblical approach. Emma loves to be 'in the know' and I'm very excited to start reading these with her, this was something Aaron and I subscribed to when we were in school.
Pizza Hut Book-It Program. This doesn't take much explanation, bring on the reading!! (Emma's monthly goals fluctuate depending on how busy we are, we also include our "read out loud" book to her goal.)
ks. The covers aren't flashy, but these are killer Preschool workbooks! No prep needed, a great combination of skills and projects and amazingly cheap. I can't say enough about these, both the girls worked their way through many of these books and Livy (4) still enjoys them.Lastly...schedule!! I have one hard-driven child, and one extremely laid back so far, but both thrive on routine. It represents safety and security for children. Something I'm struggling to regain since Liam, but I'm working on it day by day. Having a "check-list" for Emma to cross off makes her feel very accomplished.
Enjoy every day!
