Home at Last

Recap.

Daddy called Sunday morning at 8:00am. "Well, I'm back on the road..." I waited, wondering what he'd say next. I had no idea how far away he was, we hadn't talked since 11pm the night before.
"I just passed a city...hm, it started with a 'B'....Oh, that was it...BOISE!"

I screamed into the phone.

8:15am. Andy quietly opened the front door, I watched from the kitchen as Livy, while playing in the living room, looked up and realized who it was. She ran to him. Her giggles were on the verge of hysterics, she was beside herself with emotions. It would be 10 minutes before she would even take her hands off Andy.

Emma came next.

Then my turn.

I'd been waiting for that hug for 4 weeks. The last 48 hours had felt as long as the 4 weeks all over again.

Andy made it. The trailer did not. It had to be left in Cheyenne, WY as there were 60 mph winds over the pass and they closed the road off to light trailers. Even crossing the mountains with just his pickup, it was treacherous and long.

So, we're together, we're a family again, and it's amazing how little you truly CAN live with....although I know both Andy and I would give our right arms for a real bed about now.

Our families have lent us blankets, some dishes, chairs and the cutest littl' 4 cup coffee pot that starts our mornings off sweet.

Your prayers last weekend made all the difference.
