I Think I Can, I Think I Can....

Our mantra this last week.

Friday is Andy's day to weigh himself at the clinic and at that point, he'd lost 5 pounds in 10 solid days of Paleo.
This "diet" is not a crash diet, it's a very high-fat approach, but focused on all natural fats and sugars that are much easier on our tummies, digestive tracts and overall health. I'm learning that low-fat usually means "chemical (expletive) storm". If you're gonna cheat, go for the real thing.

It's a month of firsts for us!

First time picking blueberries off the vine at a berry farm outside of Emmett. (Liam outlasted all of us in 100 degree heat)

First lettuce-wrapped hamburgers today (I didn't miss the bun, whoa....)

First decision to eat organic grass-fed beef!!! We don't have it yet, but we're going to buy a "half of a half" (I kept saying 1/4th but now half-of-a-half makes sense to me) of beef and we can't wait! I pitched a lot of stuff in my freezer to make room in case we don't find a garage freezer by then.

Our grocery budget has sky rocketed in 11 days. Wowzers. This will take some creative budgeting come Fall! I may feel a bit of relief when I've stockpiled more of the everyday natural ingredients that weren't regular parts of our diet before. DID YOU KNOW that a TINY container of Arrowroot is $9.00???? Ouch. :)

My conclusion after our first (almost) 2 weeks....it's all worth it.
