Giddy Girl

Our days can easily pass in a blur right now.

Most days Andy is up and on his way to class by the time the girls and I are first stirring. He's home by 10:30pm from work, but that's when homework starts.

Two little events today gave me a glimpse into what makes a marriage work even in the blur stages....

1. He still finds time to leave me a note next to a pot of my favorite coffee, written on a piece of packaging cardboard (note to self, buy some note pads)

AND....2, As I was at the library this morning with the girls during story hour, I was completely surprised to look down the book isle and see my husband, Andrew walking toward us. Being completely caught off guard that he'd come between classes and meetings, I felt all the butterflies of a 16 year old again to see him there and know he just wanted to be with us. His huge smile and kiss was all I needed to tell me that he'd loved the surprise too. And it made me realize how 10 years, or 60 years may be what the Lord gives us, but I am one blessed, loved, giddy girl.

Special Note:
This picture has a long story behind it (if you didn't catch that). I love it because you can tell even at 16 and 17, we were completely gaga for each other. BUT! Let this be a lesson to all young men, don't surprise your girlfriend by showing up in a tux right after she's been at volleyball practice, has just showered, is wearing no makeup and had safely thought she wouldn't see anyone for the rest of the night, much less be photographed. Obviously, by the look on my face, I forgave him. :)
