I promised to tell about the chair.
My husband recently bought a piece of furniture. You can probably imagine how often that happens....
He bought a chair.
A chair with....character? Yes, that's kind enough.
Truth be told, it's hiding under a green duvet cover and some quilt prints in our room till a proper slip cover can be found.
There's a really good reason it's covered. It possibly has one of the highest bragging rights a chair can possess. On a scale of 1-100, our chair takes the UGLY award by a mile, it's ranking? 101.
I whole heartedly laughed the day Andy called me and said these words
"Hey! I found a chair for our bedroom! A guy at work is selling one with an ottoman for $25 bucks!"
Impressed with his furniture attentive ears, I replied "Wow, what's it look like?"
His reply, "Well, it's in perfect shape, no rips or stains....it's uh....well, it's kind of a Sports Theme chair."
-silence-
"Sports theme?" I finally managed.
"Yeah, we'll cover it, I promise." (he knows
me)
What's the big deal you say? So you bought an ugly chair. Is that blog-worthy? :)
Well, to me it is. Because there's only one reason Andy was ever looking for a chair.

Remember, his home-time is 80%
studying and homework. Most of that is while the girls and I are asleep. Last semester, he carried our recliner up and down the stairs EVERY few days to study in our room, and would bring it back down so our living room didn't look bare.
It was worth the hastle and back-stretching to, in his words,
"just be near you guys even if I can't join you."
*sigh* Sound of a contented woman. My guy loves me.
Oh that is so worth staring at a "Sports Theme" chair every morning when I awake, because it reminds me that every marriage should be worth one just like it.
On a side note, this is the slip cover I'm saving for, only in deep red. ;)

That chair would actually look pretty good in a man's study...my dad always wanted to have a room with old footballs, and antique helmets and other old sports stuff. But I agree, not so great for the Master Bedroom! :-)
Katie, I've heard that from a few people now, even my brother has "dibs" if I ever get rid of it. :) I guess "ugly" is relative to who owns it!
