A few nights ago...I was giving Andy a "What If" scenario to walk me through.
What IF our son, little Liam James, turns out to be a bug lover.
Not many people love bugs, but not many have as strong of feelings as I do of creepy crawlies. They completely CREEP me out. Literally.
"What IF," I proposed, "He is always wanting to bring me bugs, dead and alive...."
Andy smiled.
Fast-forward to the following day.
Emma is making mad dashes in and out of the sliding door. Making trips. She's gathering supplies from the house and amassing her own wildlife reserve on our back steps.
I peek out to evaluate and what do I find? A slug, slithering in one of my nice tupperware containers, and 2 bird's nests....One with a baby bird SKELETON inside. "I'm saving it to dissect later" was Emma's excuse. (We intervened.)
Which child was I worried about again, Andy wanted to know.
Part of me thinks I should buy the child a box of surgical gloves and let her loose. Perhaps in exchange she'll share her excitement with her younger brother, should he choose to follow in her footsteps. Then they'll have each other. :)
