Remembering Valentines Past...Part 3

My next memory is from 2003

We'd been married 6 months and were living in California. I had just returned back to CA from a 2 week trip back to Ontario for my dear friend Tasha's wedding. Although I wouldn't have missed it for the world, Andy and I couldn't be together on our first V-Day married. That was tough.

Andy decided to "make up for it" when I got home.

He picked me up at the airport and made me close my eyes as I walked inside our tiny little apartment. When I opened my eyes, there were hershey kisses lined at the door and trailing through the whole house....A path for me to follow. :)

The sweet chocolately trail let to our bedroom and up on top of our bed into a pile of kisses with a beautiful Valentine card and a package. The package was more thoughtful than everything else, and it told me two very important things, Andy was paying attention to my needs and wanted to bless me. It didn't have expensive chocolates or flowers, it had a pair of new jeans in it.

You have to understand, Andy was a full time student, we were working minimum wage jobs and only had enough for bills. There was no extra money. Andy knew I really needed a pair of jeans, but I would have never said that or bought them at the time. Well, he saved and bought just what I needed. And it seriously was one of the most special gifts of our young married life. It blessed my heart so much.
