Emma had a big night last night.
She is now the proud kindergartener of a "class pet". Her first pet.
A Beta fish named "Azlan". There's also 2 ghost shrimp in the bowl.

They (the girls) were a hoot from beginning to end. They decided that the gal that helped us at Wal-Mart scoop the fish out of the tank wasn't a real 'fish worker' and was a bit harsh with our little shrimp. ;) Nothing compared to the bumpy ride they endured on the way home, sitting in Emma's lap, I assure you!

What fun to find our little treasures of rocks and plants to build our fish a home which Emma says her Beta thinks is 'fish Disneyland compared to what he was in!' (we agree)
So, on our little journey of giving Emma her own responsibility and something to control (grin), we're also having a family blast! Liv is already planning what her kindergarten pet will be, and it sounds like we have some negotiating to do in the next 2 years.

Stay tuned for more fishy adventures.
No matter how old your kids are, en devour to enjoy the now.
Don't wish for anything else.
