Olivia Update

Friends and Family,
Let me start by saying that I apologize for not personally returning emails, phone calls, texts etc. that you all graciously sent with info, prayers and suggestions for Livy. My free time the last 4 weeks has been spent sleeping or trying to lay still when possible to avoid really nasty sickness with baby Coleman #3.

Here's where we're at.

Livy hasn't had a "bad day" (no walking, or very limited mobility) for almost a week now.
We are still considering other possibilities but we really think we're narrowing it down. Our concentration now is on unusual activity.

When I was a kid, through high school, certain unusual positions or twisting of my legs would make one of my kneecaps feel like it was popping out of position. Excruciatingly painful only for seconds, but it left me fearful of moving it for long periods of time.

We think Livy is dealing with something similar. It is her left leg, and definitely her knee joint. The last two awful days came RIGHT AFTER unusual activity. (a water park and riding a bike for the first time)

We're pursing the idea that her muscles or tendons are either too loose, or misplaced (as mine are) in such a way where they get stretched out and can no longer support the bones properly.

Thankfully Andy has been able to make use of the enormous talent present at his school in the PT's who are on staff and they will be able to tell us at least if we are correct that the muscles seem to not be functioning correctly.

A reminder that we've already had Livy's blood work done for multiple possible diagnoses and x-rays of her legs as well. We know a lot of what it "isn't", just not what it "is" yet!

One idea at a time. In the mean time, she continues to have many more good days than bad and we're very thankful for those.

We love hearing her wake up and say "Mom! My legs feel GOOD today!"

As always, our hope is in the Maker of these bodies, not just medical talent. The Lord knows exactly what is not right in Olivia Renae's body and we rest in knowing that He always works all this together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
