I'm talking about my pregnancy body hitting it's limit of water intake and/or retention.
I have this amazing ability (tongue in cheek) to retain fluid when I'm pregnant! I'm REALLY
good at it!! ;) Lately it's come in the form of swollen hands that are numb when I wake up in the mornings. My Dr. gave me a compassionate sigh when I told her of that symptom and said "Oh yes, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, sadly very common."
Wait. "CTS??" I thought that was reserved for painters, or typists, or people with arthritis.
Little did I know that if effects a good majority of pregnant women too when a certain (I forget the name of the specific hand nerve) nerve gets pinched due to excess water weight.
Here's the little kicker. My 'getting medically with-it husband' KNEW this. He was commiserating with me but hadn't told me why it was happening. Really, what guy WANTS to tell his wife "Sweetie, it's 'cause your hands are little watermelons babe." (Doesn't quite produce those tingly good feelings)
Now I'll most likely always be leery when I ask him a medical question and he responds with
"I love you." Truth be told, I love him all the more for it.
Here's my GOOD thought for the day:
"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight. O Lord, my strength and my redeemer."
Psalm 19:14
