I love Christmas time, and all the trimmings of the season.
I thrive on making my home inviting...
(not perfect, but welcoming)
Picking out that "meant for us" fresh Christmas Tree....
Stockings, Christmas cards, delicious candles and of course soft Christmas music in the background.
The last 2 Christmas seasons have been somewhat hard.
Last year, we still got to decorate our house, minus a tree, knowing we'd be spending Christmas in Oregon with our families. This year, every Christmas box is already packed deep in the bowels of our trailer.
We plan to be completely moved out of those house around the 19th of December, so there's hardly any point of decorating if you just plan to pack it all away...BEFORE Christmas no less.
I'm trying to think of small ways the kids and I can still make things festive, even when our house continues to empty around us as we pack and sort and shuffle piles off to the trailer. I know It's not the decor, or the tree, or the music that makes Christmas....As much as I still enjoy it all AND look forward to the next holiday season when we're re-established in OR/ID.
I know that what my kids remember will be #1 What we made of it, #2 The time we spent together and most important...The real story of Christmas, which is something they'll grow up hearing from us each and every year.
