Captivated....

Which love captivates me?
Paul the Apostle chose to be captive. He chose his servant hood to Christ, he called himself a doulos. Greek for bond servant. A willing giving up of oneself to serve another, for life. Reaching far beyond the normal duties of a servant.
What made him do that? What on earth could make a man embrace a cold, rat infested, lonely, horrible prison experience, and worse, again and again. He CHOSE to follow Christ. Nothing compelled him but his own desire to know Christ and him crucified, because Christ first loved him. Paul's passion was intense, it was all consuming. It was a fire.
Galations 5:1 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."
I, as a believer of Christ have a choice daily. Do I allow myself to take on the burden of slavery in my soul to sin, to befriend a world that screams out to me of illegitimate love, or do I accept what Christ offers me, as the one true lover of my soul, a complete reliance to be sanctified in HIS power, and to choose Him daily, to walk in freedom from sin and self and instead walk in grace and power.
I choose, by God's grace, to be a willing, broken doulos, a bond servant of Jesus Christ.
