You Can't Kid a Kidder....

Now let me preface this story by saying that Andy and I are not complete advocates of tattoos. :) But....

Curious? :)

Andy had an idea for a tattoo when he was 19 and at Bible College....and he felt it was the right time to do it this year (at 25) since it held a lot of meaning for him.....The Lord has carried him (and me) through the hardest season of our lives and to the other side, for Andy, this was a physical reminder of whom he serves and why.

So.....There was one slight catch to this plan. Our parents. :) Even though we've been gone from home for 8 years, married for 6, Andy was still a tad squeemish about showing them, remembering the threats from our teenage years should we ever get one. Ha.

Mom L. was awesome, thought it was neat.

Mom C. was also great with it, thought it was "cool"

Dad. C. had the same reaction.

(Whew)

And last night, there was one parent remaining that didn't know about the new arm ink.....Or so we thought. We'd been at mom and dad's for most of the weekend for a wedding and just as we were packing up to leave, late last night, Andy and Aaron decided to spring it on Dad. So, Aaron asked Dad if he "knew about things".....

Without answering, Dad L. sets down his laptop, stands up and says "Oh yeah...Well what about THIS....." and to our shock lifts up his sleeve to produce his own "tattoo".....Or rather a sticker from the inside of his new shirt stating something about which fabric the shirt was made from.

We all roared.

Ya can't kid a kidder.

Dad L. had known all day and had been wearing that sticker on his arm since morning, even while he taught two services yesterday!! Haha, he was prepared.

By the way, Andy's tattoo is greek and reads Doulos which is "BondServant". If you want the whole story you'll have to ask him one day, but I think it's pretty neat. And yes to all concerned, we are POSITIVE that it was a brand new needle and ink. :)

I also want to say that removing my "tattoo" (which I didn't do until the next morning--therefore had it on for 24 hours) was probably more painful than Andy's was to get ON. I also had a circular mark on my arm for several hours. Oh the pain we endure to be cool! :)
