Thou Shall Not Scare Thy Parents...

It's the eleventh commandment, lesser known. (grin)

Little Livy gave us a scare yesterday. By early evening, she was running a fever at it's peak of 103.8 which we believe was due to a combination of infant heat stroke and suspicious bites on her stomach which her daddy believes were spider bites.

She only played outside for 20 minutes, but she was wearing all white and burned right through her clothing (which we didn't even know was possible!)

So, our night consisted of cold baths which to sick children are the epitomy of child abuse (my parents kept assuring me that it's not, doesn't change how kids feel about it!!). Thankfully she began to drink gatorade once her Daddy was able to come home around 9:30pm last night. She let him sing "Teapot" and "Jesus Loves Me" to her and somehow, he even interested her in ice cream!!

This morning, she was down to 100 degrees, and woke up from nap time fever free! Praise the Lord. She's been drinking fluids like crazy and loving the fact that we've let her run around almost naked for a day.

This morning, she sat and watched a Veggie Tales with Daddy while Emma and I went to church. Andy said she sat perfectly still next to him through the entire show, till he realized she was fast asleep. :)

We're thankful that her body is on the mend and that it wasn't more serious than that. Those little bodies get SO hot, it's frightening.

Oh! And big sister Emma didn't waste one moment after the church service was over before she went down to the front of the stage where Pastor Rich was and told him ALL about how her little sister was very sick, and how they should pray for her!!! He was just shocked at how concerned she was, so he sat her down and prayed with her for Livy to be well soon. I didn't even know this was going on as I was talking with a friend. I went down after a while to tell Rich about Livy and why Andy wasn't there and he stopped me and said "Oh, I already know all about Livy, Emma came down for prayer!!" I was blessed beyond words that Emma had thought to go pray for her sister. Wow.
