We're ready to gingerly share our plans for this coming year.
A lot of pieces needed to fall into place, and truly we're in awe of how things are coming together. SO far. Long ways to go....
Andy is set to graduate from LATI next May. This coming semester, our plans are uneventful, sleep, eat, school and have a baby in there somewhere. :)
Life gets crazy in December.
Around December 19-20th we plan to be moving out of our rental house, and tying up all loose ends. Baring a winter storm, December 21st or 22nd, Andy, myself and the kids (including our 6 wk something old baby) will be smashed in a very tightly packed van and begin our journey in Oregon. Planning to hopefully arrive late on Christmas Eve.
Before you blink back surprise and question us...Let me give a brief explanation to our insanity.
Andy's final semester is made up of about 80% clinicals. Those clinicals, we pray, will be done at St. Lukes in the Treasure Valley locations. He's already gone through paperwork with them toward working in their acute care and sports injury PT areas. The beginning of February, Andy only has 2 days between the end of classes and the beginning of clinicals to report to his clinical location.
THAT my friends is nuts. The idea that we can get our whole family across the country in 48 hours on a time crunch, in February when wind chills here at -30 and 5 ft high snow drifts are common, is not smart. At least in December, we do not have to make it home at any given time, it would just be nice for Christmas.
Back to December. Andy will enjoy as much of Christmas break with us in Oregon as possible. Once he returns, the kids and I will be staying with mom and dad till Andy makes it back around February 14th. It will be long, I will run out of patience and energy being a single mom for 6 wks, but I have a very giving family who will be supportive, and after months of prayer, we really feel this is the wisest choice we can make.
Once Andy arrives in February. We will make the move to Nampa/Meridian/Boise (depending on what hospital he's paired with) and rent (Lord willing) ONE last time!!!
Our long term goal has been to remain in the Boise/Meridian area indefinitely but that's the Lord's arena. Mine is taking my mission on a daily basis.
If you've seen Andy post on Facebook about wanting to buy an enclosed cargo trailer, this would be why. Andy will bring his pickup and the trailer in February when he comes back for good. Hopefully we can stuff enough in the van to last us through six weeks of living.
After all that, our last planned big trip will be for Andy and I and our little boy to return in May for graduation and for Andy to take his exam in Sioux Falls, SD directly following.
This is all still being worked out one issue at a time. So far, we've been grateful that not only are Andy's instructors working with us, but his day job has been beyond understanding and even in agreement with us that February is NOT safe to move a young family around here.
Hospitals are large and students can fall through the cracks, we still know there's a huge change St. Lukes won't have an opening or plans will change. So, we press on toward flexibility and will STILL make this move in faith that the Lord has opened all the doors to get there, and He'll take care of the rest when we arrive.

Well thank you for sharing your plans for the upcomming future:) I am very excited to hear that you will be in the Boise area!! Maybe this time we could actually get together when you are close:) I know how difficult that is with little ones, homeschooling, and life in general. I will be praying for your family. Much love to you!!!
