I've been in stitches lately over my kids.
Let me give you a few glimpses into their world.
Livy- (3.9) She's reclaimed the world of baby dolls since this pregnancy, and is a fiercely protective mommy. Her babies travel with us everywhere, are regularly changed, fed, put down for naps etc. It's adorable. Sunday we were in Brandon visiting my grandparents, G&G and Emma were at a service while Andy and I relaxed with Liv at the house....After 30 minutes of quiet play in some part of the house, Liv reappears with a huge sigh "Ugh! I FINALLY got my baby to sleep!"
Andy and I looked at each other and started laughing. Even her fake kids don't obey very well!
Yesterday, Emma and Liv wanted to go ride bikes outside.
"Mom! Will you watch Theresa for me while I go ride my bike?"
"Yep, I'll watch her Liv."
"Now, if she cries, it's because you need to burp her...will you remember?"
"Yes Liv, go play, I got it."
---5 minutes later----
Livy comes back in the house, I can hear her footsteps being very 'purposed'.
Suddenly she appears in the kitchen.
"Mom." (Her look is quite serious)
"Yeah?"
"Do you know why I'm back in here?"
"Um, no?"
"It's because I could hear Theresa crying all the way from outside....do you KNOW how to burp her?"
--I haven't been allowed to babysit again unless I sit outside on the steps with Theresa where Livy can see us.--
Emma (5.11)
On our way home from Brandon Sunday night---
"Hey guys, I'd like to be a paleontologist when I grow up."
Oooook.
Yesterday morning I shared a new idea I had with Emma for her birthday coming up in 2 wks. (Emma LOVES playing bingo on Saturday nights with her Great Grandparents....it's one of those weekly events she lives for) "Emma! What if we all played bingo on your birthday but instead of using b-i-n-g-o, we spell out E-m-m-a-!" (Thinking I'd get a "YEAH!")
Instead, I got a really big smile from her, but these words...
"I'd LOVE that. But 'Emma' has 2 'M's' Mom, and that would be very confusing to everyone, they wouldn't know which letter you're calling out. But good idea."
