Up During the Night

It's a common characteristic of pregnancy,
sleep-less nights. Although
pretty early for me to be starting that....What else is new, this pregnancy isn't following any rules.

So, as I went to the bathroom for the who-knows-how-many-eth time....I came back and tried to relax. Restlessness wanted to claim me. Andy was -snoring- breathing heavy, and I could even hear the girls from the other room.

I smiled as I laid there. I would have rather been sleeping, but I was sure the Lord wanted to spend time with me, and nowadays, during the night is as quiet as it gets in our house. I began to pray, for my beautiful family, for pregnancies and new babies, for classes and wisdom in parenting...For test results to come for Miss E, for grace to not just survive but tackle another year of school. Sure enough, I fell back to sleep peacefully.

This morning, I woke up to Andy up and going...doing the dishes for me before heading off for his early classes. Liv was already snuggled in next to me, counting something on her knees, singing to herself. Emma followed soon and we began a beautiful day.

Thankful for the night.
