Last night was like watching something out of a movie. Andy grabbed Emma's hand and ran with her out to G&G's backyard. I had come around the corner of the house by then and I could see exactly what they were so excited about.
Fireflies.
Literally, 1000's. They were hovering right above a corn field that backs up to backyard.
The sight was breath-taking. It was nature's Christmas lights, decorating that field. I made the decision NOT to run for my camera....I just enjoyed the moment and watched Andy and Emma, stand in the field together with their jar, trying to catch the fireflies. They caught two, which lit up in the jar and caused us all to "Ooo!" and "Ahh!" at them.
What an experience. It will be among our South Dakota favorites for sure.

That is SO cool! Someday I would love to see fireflies in real life!
