Meet Buddy

 Q. Why did you get a dog?
A. Because our lives were too quiet. (I kid) Andy and I always said we'd own a pair of Huskies when our kids were grown. When Andy began working in therapy and learned about therapy dogs, our plans of owning a dog moved up 10 years.
 Q. Where did Buddy come from?
A. We saw an ad here in Meridian from a family who had recently moved into a home with a small yard, who both worked full days. They knew Buddy wasn't happy. He's a 4 yr old Husky/Malamute mix and one of the best tempered dogs I've ever seen. He does not dig, chew, bark, (unless workmen are entering the backyard) or have issues with other dogs....We lucked out with our first dog and fell for him hard.
 Q. How does he do with the kids?
A. He loves on them. His normal morning spot is under the kids' school table. He tolerates Liam's kisses and tendency to lay on him with great patience. As I write this, Liam just set his graham cracker on the ground and Buddy helped him finish it. Whoops.
 Q. Does he shed?
A. YES. It's his one and only "fault". :) But he's well trained and stays off all furniture so it only produces extra vacuuming. So far, I am able to handle it. :)
Q. Will he become a therapy dog?
A. That is our goal! The licensing program we want to use requires us to have owned him for 6 months before we start him on the training. After he finishes, Andy hopes to have him at work daily.
